Feline Calicivirus,Herpesvirus,Chlamydophila felis, Mycoplasma felis,Bordetella bronchiseptica Real-time PCR Test Kit can be used to detect FCV, FHV, C. Felis, M. Felis and Bordetella bronchiseptica nucleic acid in feline nasopharyngeal, throat and secretions of eye swabs
Feline calicivirus (FCV) is a virus that is an important cause of upper respiratory infections and oral disease in cats. This virus infects cats throughout the world and can cause disease in both domestic and exotic cat species.
Feline herpesvirus (FHV) is a highly contagious virus that is one of the major causes of upper respiratory infections (URIs) or cat flu in cats. The virus is ubiquitous and causes disease in cats all over the world.
Chlamydophila felis is a common pathogen of cats. It primarily causes a conjunctivitis without respiratory infection. The condition often starts unilaterally but typically becomes bilateral. It results in chemosis and initially a copious serous discharge which becomes mucopurulent with chronicity.
Mycoplasma infection is caused by a type of bacteria that acts as a parasite in the blood, causing anemia and other signs of infection. Antibiotic treatment may be needed to overcome the disease, especially in cats with poor immune performance.
Bordetella bronchiseptica is a small, gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterium of the genus Bordetella. It can cause infectious bronchitis in dogs and other animals, but rarely infects humans.
This kit uses fluorescence probe PCR (RT-PCR) method to detect the deserved gene of FCV, FHV, C. Felis, M. Felis and Bordetella bronchiseptica, which is helpful for diagnosis, monitoring and epidemiological investigation of FCV, FHV, C. Felis, M. Felis and Bordetella bronchiseptica.
