El circovirus porcino (PCV) es un virus de ADN monocatenario (clase II), sin envoltura y con un genoma circular no segmentado. La cápside viral es icosaédrica y mide aproximadamente 17 nm de diámetro. PCV es un miembro de la familia de virus Circoviridae.
